Thanks once again to @thegrizzlylabs for their continued and very much appreciated sponsorship of @SwiftPackageIndex. Join us for another episode of Swift Package Indexing, and in this episode we had the opportunity to talk to @holly who manages the Swift Compiler Team at Apple. We chat about upcoming Swift 6 changes, why they're a big deal, but also why you shouldn't worry too much. Of course, all three of us pick packages, too!

Join us for another episode of Swift Package Indexing as Dave and Sven talk open-source security vulnerabilities and how all package ecosystems are at risk, why it won't be possible to give meaningful "package size" stats on package pages, yet more talk of interfacing with Swift from other languages, and a one-question quiz! Plus package recommendations, of course!

Thanks so much to @emerge for their continued sponsorship of @SwiftPackageIndex.

I’m quite sure that you’ve all already checked out what they do, since I asked so nicely in all our previous posts about them. You wouldn’t have ignored those, would you? I didn’t think so.

So what do we do with the rest of this post? How about a cute cat instead?

Oh and just in case you are in the group that hasn’t checked Emerge out yet… Here you go 👍 https://www.emergetools.com/?utm_source=spi2&utm_medium=sponsor&utm_campaign=emerge

We had an interesting discussion on whether theming DocC documentation would work with SPI documentation hosting in our Discord this weekend. It does work, so we wrote a few words about how to do it in a little blog post today!

It's time for another episode of Swift Package Indexing! In this episode, Dave and Sven break their streak of skipping recording to find Swift in exciting new places, like on ARM Windows and the Playdate, and learn new tricks like interoperating with C#. And as usual, there are package recommendations, with a good sprinkling of descents into various rabbit holes.

We post about our company sponsors all the time, but we also want to say a huge thank you to all of our community sponsors. Thank you so much to everyone who is sponsoring now, or has sponsored the project through GitHub Sponsors in the past. We couldn’t do what we do without you! ❤️ Your names are all up on our supporters page, here: https://swiftpackageindex.com/supporters

Thanks so much to @thegrizzlylabs for their continued support of @SwiftPackageIndex. Have you ever needed document scanning embedded inside your app? It’s the same document-scanning API that powers the Genius Scan app on the store, so it’s got pedigree!

We did a little work on the blog that went live tonight! 🎉

It's now a part of the main site, has had a design refresh, and links to the podcast. 👍

All the old post URLs redirect, so we didn't "break the web"! The feed URL has a redirect on it, too, but if you want to update your subscription there's a bright orange button here: https://swiftpackageindex.com/blog

It's time for another episode of Swift Package Indexing. This time, Dave and Sven take a look at the Flutter ecosystem, discuss Dave's blogging system rewrite, review their collaboration on a production crash, and, as usual, highlight some community packages.

The support of companies and community members is so valuable in keeping what we do here possible. Today, we're joined by two new companies: Grizzly Labs, with their Genius Scan SDK and Emerge Tools with their suite of optimisation tools. Thank you to both of you! You can check them out on the homepage. https://swiftpackageindex.com/

We're seeing intermittent issues with the site where requests might time out. We're working on it, please bear with us!

SwiftPackageIndex,
@SwiftPackageIndex@mas.to avatar

We believe to have fixed the issue but we've also had to temporarily roll back the funding link changes. We'll bring them back as soon as possible but we're guessing you all prefer no timeouts while we work on a proper fix 😅

Please let us know if you're still seeing issues!

SwiftPackageIndex,
@SwiftPackageIndex@mas.to avatar

The issue has been fixed and funding links are once again being displayed on package pages 🚀

NB: We had to reset funding data, so it may take a moment until every package's info is up-to-date again.

You might notice some package pages now promote funding and sponsorship options for their owners. Want more details? Of course you do! 🫨
