i installed the trial version of ableton live and i made horrible shit so that made me laugh a lot
the only concern i have is i forgot how tedious it feels trying to make electronic music when you don’t know shit

@alyx that sounds fun; are you able to create loops and apply effects on them or would you still need a loopstation and separate pieces of hardware for that?
I think for the genre I want to do I really need to apply a lot of effects so I guess it might be trickier/more expensive to do in a hardware set up (idk shit about all of that tho)

J'ai trouvé un site de vente de clavier mécanique super bien fait, genre c'est pas des refs cryptiques, tu peux classer par type de switch, quand tu commandes un clavier et qu'il propose des bundles tu peux preview ce que c'est (pas juste genre "keycaps spring flower").

Nan je déconne on comprend rien WDYM tu sais pas ce que c'est les switch XDF-25 et à quoi ressemblent tous les keycaps ??

@alyx essentiellement je crois que c’est le layout qui risque de poser un problĂšme en compatibilitĂ© (genre si t’achĂšte des keycap, faut juste s’assurer qu’il y aura aussi une touche clavier ISO), le reste c’est universel je pense

Je sais que tu disais ça surtout pour l’expĂ©rience utilisateur qui est merdique haha mais au cas oĂč tu te demandais. Si jamais t’as besoin d’un coup de main pour des explications, j’ai fait un peu de recherche et j’ai une comprĂ©hension assez basique de l’ensemble @guillaume

@alyx il me semblait haha mais oui, c’est mbraiment le hobby niche oĂč t’as pas vraiment un marchĂ© intermĂ©diaire pour les gens qui veulent un clavier mĂ©canique avec certaines prĂ©fĂ©rences mais veulent pas souder eux mĂȘme avant de l’ajouter Ă  leur collection de 201 claviers, en plus des filtres merdiques en gĂ©nĂ©ral sur les sites gĂ©nĂšres sur des valeurs de donnĂ©es pas conformes.
Genre soit tu prends un clavier tout fait par une grosse marque Ă  70 balles et c’est pas terrible, ou tu prends un truc custom Ă  monter toi-mĂȘme Ă  400 balles, c’est fatiguant

@alyx let me try make this concise as i have just spat out 10 messages to my datefriend talking about it lol

It went on very well! The game has a really cool universe that I love (it’s very queer, inclusive, body-positive shit with flirting and romancing as the core mechanics lol). I was nervous before and after, but was totally relaxed when at the session. I did not know the players beforehand, they are quite reserved and non-native, so i hope we manage to connect. I was surprised i managed to imagine relationship dynamics quite quickly on the spot so that’s nice!

It was a “session 0” where you pick your character, discuss the settings, story, themes, etc. so it felt mostly like a social thing. I’m both excited and nervous for the first session haha, but it will be very nice as they are connections that may also be regulars at the monthly queer board game night i attended a couple of weeks ago, which would be healthy things for me

TIL, as I suspected, you cannot easily create sub-profiles for your Plex account with access to all servers that your account has

What I didn't suspect is that it has been a feature request for TEN YEARS, that the developers plainly refuse to add, using Bad Usageâ„ąïž examples that are non-sensical as already reproducible and allowed without the said requested feature.

@alyx i don't think it's stupid at all, it reminds me of two things: a sort of 3D desktop I had set up when I was a teen as a gimmick (googled it and it may have been BumpTop which has been acquired by Google without them doing much with it i guess), and mind palaces (a strategy for memory enhancement using the visualisation of a spatial environment to “store” information)
