think I killed tl so let's kill it further ig: Here's a good example of what I meant. TXT Good Boy Gone Bad. The concept of GBGB wasn't just "sexy" or "dark" but it had a whole ass MISSION. They're cold werewolves and psychopaths and they only love y/n! The song sounds like something you'd hear in a halloween movie, which is what they were going for! The name also fits well cuz txt were that boy next door group and it's like they're moving into their angsty teen phase with this one!

I love the way ningah says "IT'S ABOUT TO BANG BANG DON'T FORGET MY NAME!!" because it sounds like she's actually in panic and losing control

I think that's why supernova works so well, because they're so good at the concept of concept, they can play their characters so well and that's why they stand out from other groups

Twice was good at this too until they stopped having actual concepts and lore :mondayDed: boy group side of kpop is really good at this too, they don't have to worry about looking all cute and lovely so they lean into being 'scary' and incorporate that into their lore it's genius

or just being cool instead of scary, the lore is usually dumb that way (cough cough ATEEZ) but it's still playing a character and it's an easy way to make an interesting story and gag your audience with little funny moments while still being clever and I think that's just beautiful :ChaeFeels: (god I sound like such a stupid nerd lmfao)
