You truly don’t understand how large US cities are. Mine isn’t even in the top 10 in the country and it takes us 30 min driving at 65mph to drive from the north end to the south. That’s not a metro area, that’s within city limits. No one can bike around here and survive. For recreation, sure, we have bike lanes. It’s extremely difficult for anything else.
115K. Totaled the engine. Too far out of spec to machine. I wasn’t about to put more money into it. It was paid off too which sucked. Found out after the fact that this is a known defect on this engine. Note: it was not a Flex Fuel vehicle, or at least it wasn’t badged that way. Not sure if that affects anything reliability wise.
The work bathroom is currently a warzone, on their phone speakers people like to play music, play games at full blast, and one guy likes to chill to ambient rainforest. What song can I play to passive aggressively make it known that I don’t want to listen to their tik tok feeds while I work out my demons?
My work requires video if possible and not distracting. I’m so used to it note I don’t really care what you’re doing. Bathroom would be a hard no though.
Starting January 18, 1943—the midst of World War II—sliced bread was barred from American bakeries and homes. New baking regulations set by the Office of Price Administration had boosted flour prices, and the government wanted to prevent these costs from getting passed down to the consumer. By banning the use of expensive bread-slicing machines, the government was hoping bakeries could keep their prices low. Officials were also worried about the country’s supply of wax paper—and sliced bread required twice as much paraffin wrapping as an unsliced loaf. (It prevented the slices from drying prematurely.)
Terrible headline. It’s more of a proof of concept than playable anything. Can’t get passed the first stage due to goal posts not being in the build and it runs at half speed. No one will be enjoying it other than thinking it’s a cool demo.
Holy crap are do people on Lemmy seem to have a seething hate for them all. Not interested with debating over something we’ll disagree on. It’s just not a welcome topic here.
Basically. However there are signs that is starting to recover like places lowering their prices. Home Depot has their best Memorial Day pricing I’ve seen in years.
Had a CC with 7.99% flat rate interest back when variable wasn’t the only option. This was 10 years ago. Bank dropped it the first time we had no balance on it and didn’t notice. Bastards.
My rate hovers at low of 790s to high of anywhere in the 800s and I see 15% cards at the low. Just god awful these days.
On Tuesday, voters in Crook County passed measure 7-86, which asked voters if they support negotiations to move the Oregon/Idaho border to include Crook County in Idaho. The measure is passing with 53% of the vote, and makes Crook County the 13th county in eastern Oregon to pass a Greater Idaho measure.
It’s not that they’re poorly educated (farmers are typically smart people in very practical ways that city people are not), it’s that they don’t have government services to rely on so they don’t understand why people in the city need it as they see themselves as self sufficient.
I love that you got downvoted even though you’re correct.
My Mazda uses GPS and the camera also reads road signs to display the speed limit on our HUD and instrument panel. The speedometer shows the limit as well and if you go over it shows a red line (which is useful honestly). Doesn’t beep thank god, I’d burn it.
We only leased a new car because it was literally cheaper to lease than to buy used last fall. The market was absolutely upside down. Plan on buying it at the end of the 33 mo lease.
I have seen a lot of stories online of people getting things stuck in there and doctors having to remove it, even items like cucumbers. I get that an item with a highly irregular shape could get stuck. But if it’s something long and rounded, why can people not just poop it out? Is it because the item isn’t soft enough?
