2023 was a very good year for cinematic platformers! ✨

Finished The Forest Quartet 🌲 🎹 🎶

It's a lovely narrative puzzle game about grief set to jazz music.

A lot of love and emotion has been poured into it ❤️

Lately I have been playing a lot of Oblivion Override which is an absolute pleasure. A mix of Hades, Mega Man Zero and Dead Cells, still in EA but with plenty of meaty content already.

Before the advent of CDs, Alone in the Dark 2 fit on 9 floppy disks! 💾

There's also a cardboard sleeve containing the game Jack in the Dark. It's a little adventure to tide players over until the release of Alone in the Dark 2.

Here's the copy protection! ♠️

When the game calls for it, the player must overlap one game card on another, then give the symbol/color he sees in the indicated hole.

Four of Diamonds over King of Spades, Hole #6, for e.g., is Diamond Orange.

@damianogerli It's the fact that it's as vertical as in Legacy of Kain that first reminds me of that game. But yes, it's also very inspired by the early Diablo interface.
