I’d recomment checking listen brainz’ tools, like this one listenbrainz.org/explore/music-neighborhood/ which shows relative artists. If you set it up properly (like using apps to sync folders) a big enough sd is like local “cloud” service.

I was thinking about it recently, after my phone data were very close to being deleted (I managed to prevent it eventually), I was angry at how not having an sd slot caused me so many issues. If I had a 1tb sd I would just autosync app backups and files to my card and not worry ~at all about losing data from bootloops etc.

What apps would you love to have open-source alternatives for?

It seems like the FOSS community is continuing to grow, and FOSS apps keep getting better (Immich reallh blew my mind recently), which is a big win 😎 but there are still many apps I use that I would kill for an open source alternative. I am curious what you guys think? Are there any apps you’d love alternatives for?

Haven’t tried Alovoa, but think of it differently; if someone is on Alovoa, they maybe are more similar-minded to you, because they too probably like open source stuff.

As Louis Rossmann also said, using a single port for both charging/moving data and listening music increases the wear on the port. They’re just made to wear down faster with the absence of the audio jack port.

Plus it’s impractical, as it occupies the type c port.

I dont know, but if you also use it to plug in earphones you may double the use.

Im using my type c port phone for about 3.5years so far (I rarely plug headphones in it though) and the port seems ok.

But either way, this extra wear down is simply another negative aspect of this move and I think so far the disanvantages outweigh the advantages (also I think it’s just so that they can sell their wireless earphones and on a lower degree support planned obsolesence).

Add 3x1 “daily” widget, set view style to tile, change subtitle data to custom and paste this line on the field

Been using breezy weather for a few moneths so far, I really like it. Im using the daily tile and the clock+daily 4x2 widgets (I have stacked them) and I get almost every info I want.

Its a network where you (mainly?) share music with other users. I think you can call it a p2p network where its very encouraged to share your stuff as well if you want people to let you download from them.

It even has an open source app for android. You just make an account (only username and password) and you can start using the service.
