The funniest thing to me is that when I bring up systemic racism or America's history with it, almost invariably someone will ask me "Well, what do we do about it?"

And, when I was younger, I'd try to offer solutions and whatnot...but then it dawned on me. Black people didn't enslave white people or enact a system of laws meant to relegate an entire ethnicity to permanent second (no) class status.

Why are white people uncomfortable talking about America's racist history, in 2023?

It's so weird to me. Stuff that I've known about my whole life and have lived with, white people can't be bothered to address.

Been to Savannah a few times. I've been to the cells where they held slaves. There is no landmark, no marker at all, in fact. The cells are just below River Street. People walk over them everyday without a second thought.

As school shootings become a common, and horrendous, occurrence, the absolute worst idea I've seen as a response is arming teachers. Just...I gotta get out of this country for at least a few months.
