Doing some test printing of a couple blocks from my current #linocut project today. A bit disappointed in how transparent the yellow is, so I may need to try a different ink. Putting yellow over black is a pretty tall order.
My blocks were out of alignment on initial test prints, but it looks like the solution I ginned up has solved that, which is the main thing this test run was for.
I've arrived once again at that extremely stressful (for me, anyway) step of transferring layers onto lino accurately before the much more fun step of carving can begin.
I've tried so many different ways of doing this, and carbon paper has been by far the most consistent for me. I just wish it wasn't also the most menial and time consuming...
@rasterweb@3dprinting wow Pete, I’ve been 3D printing a long time but I’ve never printed finished things this thin before. The fit on my tabs were pretty great, only a few needed a swipe with a round file. Seems legit, I think I’m going to do some printing this week. Thanks! In the photo I’m just doing a fit check and dress rehearsal with some painter’s tape on the edge of my desk. #blockprint#linocut#traditionalart#printing#3dprinting
I would love to know more about how other #linocut / #blockPrint / #stampCarving artists transfer their drawings to the carving medium. My current method is imprecise and slow and I'm looking to figure out a better one (ideally, that doesn't end with me needing to buy a printer - I can access laserjet printers at the library and inkjet at the local copy shop for now). Google is giving me tons of SEO spam with a few valid answers mixed in and I'm sick of sorting through it all.
