"Minari" -2029
Korean/American award-winning movie about a Korean family settling in rural US in '80's .
Daddy is full of great plans, Mom is not so sure about it . Pubering boy has issues with Grandma joining too.
She is not the regular strict Gram he is expecting. Sometimes forgetting things too...
Minari is a popular herb all over Asia, easy to grow.
Beautiful, brilliant" Miniature".
Excellent cast, Grandma is Top !
Moving to the US, becoming housewife for several years, out of the limelights.
Cheated by her husband she goes back to SK , picks up acting and back on top at age 70+
A nice slow pace, beautiful scenery plus a young woman and man starting to write letters to each other. They don't know each other and never met.
Because they live 2 years apart.
This movie has that delicate, empty feel that more Korean movies made before Hallyu have..
Just watched 'Sunny', the 2011 Korean film about a group of high school girl friends and their adult self via flashbacks
Please note that I did not shed a single tear.
Though one thing that I'm not quite sure, did Su-ji really came back at the end? or was it their imagination? Because if that's really her, then shouldn't there be a scar on her face?
