I do have to say, one thing I personally enjoy is fiddling with smaller systems.
May it be a #NUC or a #ThinkStation or maybe a #OptiPlex - there is so much one can do without spending loads of money on electricity!
And every time I found myself using a smaller system I deploy either a #BSD or a #Linux distro.
My needs are not huge.
Some programming, web surfing and sometimes a video.
Looking forward to using my newly purchased laptop 😎
And of course: It will run a free operating system! 🙂
@jhx I feel that. The "server" I have at my home has 4GB ram and a quite old CPU, even just for running a graphical system nowadays it probably would quite easily get to its limits. But just running FreeBSD and no graphics stack it is more then capable of fulfilling my needs

Same here. Got a older PC running with vanilla #FreeBSD as my #NAS - it was free from work 🙂
Btw: I very much like reusing older hardware. And as a retro computing fan that is very close to my heart so to speak 👍
