@StillIRise1963 yup. This has always been the case. Obviously, there are exceptions, even notable and important ones. But the reality is the horrifying racist and sexist hierarchy that was particularly strong in the 19th century South (but existed in all US territory) was enabled by white women who not only accepted it but fought to maintain it.

It couldn't have happened without those women. This doesn't mean the men aren't guilty AF, they are. But they couldn't do it without help.
