I feel like people are so set against Google that they will not even agree that Google has good ideas sometimes.

Dealing with people frothing at the mouth because you dared defend something about AMP, for example, is tiring.

Just admit what it is: like every other big company, a mix of great and questionable.

Meanwhile I'm going to honor good ideas no matter the source.

@ernie Sure, but if you want to pick something decent they did, why choose AMP?

They did some good things, like, uh...

Ulm...

Protobuf, I guess. And err...

@jens I didn’t bring up AMP for Web, I brought up AMP for Email, which is one of the few attempts to modernize email that has had any traction whatsoever. It was in context of a thread on how to modernize email.

I even said: “I think AMP for Email has some great ideas but bad branding. It could be a useful starting point for this discussion.”

The reason I said this is because people absolutely lose their shit because they conflate AMP for Email with AMP for Web.
