Apple essentially demanding that browser vendors relocate their iOS browser development teams to the EU.

The next episode of malicious compliance:

@owa Is it really, or would a VPN + using the “Set location” feature in the Simulator?

(And optionally, a trip to Europe before every release. :ouaisouais:)

The iOS Simulator Menu, showing how to access the Custom Location menu from the menu bar: go to Features, then Location, then Custom Location.

@meduz @owa Or just use one of online #iOS testing services like #BrowserStack, #SauceLabs, #BitBar or #AWS Device Farm?

@niutech @meduz For some cases simulator or remote testing would be ok, but there are many cases that you need a real device. Bugs that only appear on real devices, or if your trying to test responsiveness to touch input, or security issues. For practical purposes you need a device on your desk that you can update and test.

@meduz It's not practical in many cases to rely on the simulator for testing. Bugs can occur only on real devices, and it can be really hard to test responsiveness to input on simulators or remote testing.

As far as we know it's quite difficult to get around the geofencing without breaching Apple's terms and conditions.

@owa @meduz right another great example of this is any complex app that has high memory usage. The simulators don't have the same rules for memory limits.

You absolutely need to be able to test and develop on real devices!
