After finally getting to play through the game after so many years it feels like the end of an era for me.

Before NEURODIVER I hadn't made any games and now I can stand as an indie dev alongside them.

To me the world of ROM just feels like an aspirational thing.

I'm a pessimist and sometimes it's nice to be able to imagine a world where like being queer is just accepted, progress moves on and now we're all becoming literal furries and robots.

It's a fun world to get to visit for a bit especially with how bleak the world is sometimes.

The thing that scares me is after years of working, I expected them to have a million reviews and it left me chilled.

As an indie I now know games like this cannot exist without support.

My fear is that there will not be another ROM game, not because of malice but indifference.

That is why I am making this post.

ROM shows a better more fun future.

Even if it takes years for ROM3 I want for there to be a rom game on my wishlist because even if it's in a small way, I want to have a part of the future I can look forward to and feel excited about.
