@delosmzp During the beta phase we had users asking for it not to be on by default, so we made it optional.

@simplelogin interesting and a little unusual seeing now that you are with Proton, this is not on by default and that it goes against “Privacy by Default” motto. But I suppose this isn’t strictly a privacy feature or functionality so I guess it’s okay.

@delosmzp Hi there, we promote privacy by default, which is why offering tools that interact with third parties such as HIBP are off by default.
