ok, so i have a HUGE smashing pumpkins story that i'll try to sum up:
a friend of mine that worked at the paper with me was going to NIU at the same time i was in art school and she invited me to a party.
anyways, so i'm in dekalb and it's around christmas and i'm at this huge party and i get the big sad which was/is common for me and back then the goto was alcohol and drugs which were in great supply.
so as time goes on i'm wandering around this party (it was like in a bunch of joined apartments for the college kids) and each apartment was open with different stuff happening and i'm getting increasingly blazed out of my gourd when i come across some art students room who is obsessed with puppetry -> specifically jan svankmajer.
to make it weirder, the dude's wearing a jester hat and invites me in to show me his puppets and i'm like "fuck yeah i want to see puppets!"
and he's putting on this little puppet show and dancing around in weird little hops and shit.
anyways, this goes on and stuff and finally my friend finds me and gets me out of there,
the last thing i remember was walking down a stairway - things get a little blurry from there but i end up back at her place because there's no way i can get myself home (I lived in Aurora) so i'm zoning in and out of things and she's blasting THE Smashing Pumpkins because she was an uber fan.
for the next couple hours things are just whack with the whole weird drive of the pumpkins in the background as well as music videos on the TV.
I vaguelly recollect the music video for Zero being on the tv and that's when i had to leave because, wtf. puppets, drugs, pumpkins, etc.
anywho, i left and drove myself out into the country where i stopped and just wandered out into a cornfield until morning.
