I think I've already found a good use for Tusks.

And, so, a new experimental feature:

"𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻'𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿?"

"Daisies" (dir. Věra Chytilová, 1966)
Ivana Karbanová as Marie II

A captivating and deeply anarchic Czech New Wave film about two women named "Marie" who decide to destroy everything by tricking lots of men into buying them food.

Then, they eat the food and break lots of shit.

It's amazing.

Apropos of "Daisies" (1966)

Criterion Channel curated a selection of Czech New Wave films that got me hooked—and the curation itself is wonderful.

Steve Albini was a weird person with a lot of controversial opinions and a really big mouth.

But, he was also the ridiculously industrious little guy behind DOZENS of my favorite records.

N.B. that bio is from "Bone Machine" by Pixies.

Which was, of course, engineered by Steve Albini.

If you'd entertain a random suggestion from a stranger: that whole first Breeders record is terrific and VERY Albini.

@hotdogsladies I’ve had a few friends over the years recommend The Breeders to me but I couldn’t get past Cannonball. Not sure if the rest of there stuff was different. I got into the Pixies after the fact and they were really solid though
