@yeri looks like a drop ceiling mount with a mounting plate. Unfortunately there is no standard in access point mounts, like we have for monitors (Vesa). So, still going to be custom or brand specific.
@gbraad bit annoying because i need a few (like 30 or so) and can’t really find something that’s affordable, small, easy. There’s project mounts but $$$ and stupidly big/heavy
@yeri usually they are for some reason; we had to buy several for projectors and even those are quite expensive and quite common (they are articulated, so that might contribute to the cost).
@yeri projectors used to be 10+kg...though DLPs nowadays are much less. We had about 4 in use for classrooms. Each mount was about 70¥. So this is insane... But have you asked the access point vendor for recommendations?
@gbraad The reseller (dectdirect.nl) replied this:

which I don’t think is gonna look nice/proffesh at all. PVC might even break if someone manages to knock something against it (a ladder or something)
@yeri expensive. PVC is not necessarily a wrong material. When glued it can take quite some load, and APs are usually just a few hundred grams. It flexes, won't break that easily. And does not have interference (with the signal).
But when a walmount is about a fourth of the price of the as actual device they must have cheapish hardware or very luxurious plastics in relation.
@yeri almost feels like a repurposed projector mount ;-) If the access point has screw holes for wall mounting, it might even work that way. And those are a lot cheaper!
