Been researching espresso machines for days and my conclusion is that I want Apple to do an espresso machine. All machines on the market have horrible UI/UX and bad aesthetics.
@simonbs FWIW my house has a Breville Express Impress we are happy with. It got good marks from other people I know who take coffee way more seriously than I do (:
@Verso Yeah, I'm eyeing that one and their Touch Impress too. Not because I like a touch screen, quite the contrary actually, but because it gives even more guidance for a newbie like me 😄
@simonbs my husband never made actual espresso in his life before we got it and he manages ok (: there are "automatic" settings for the impress, so I'm pretty sure you would be fine. One thing I appreciate about ours is that you can use those settings, or if you want to do it all "by hand" and manage the settings yourself, you can do that too.
@gruberjona No, but it looks great! I'm hoping to find something that helps me a lot in the brewing process, though, similar to some of Sage's machines.
@simonbs I did a ton of research (4 years ago) and watched hours of YouTube only to settle on the Breville Barista Pro, which has been just great. Hands down best pandemic purchase 👌

I’ve the Rancilio Silva V6 E but if money was no object I’d like to have the La Marzocco Nordic Linea Mini.
@technocidal I very much enjoy the aesthetics of Rancilio's products but I'm looking for something with slightly more steps automated and more guidance for a newbie like me.
@simonbs I don’t know if you looked at them already, but Nuova Simonelli machines are one of only a few home espresso machines that allow you to program a button so that you don’t have to get out the scale every single morning without being crazy expensive.
@simonbs Yeah. I forgot to factor in the grinding. That feature is only helpful to automate the actual pulling of the shot but grinding is still a separate step.
