When I first heard the original, linked below, by @bluenagoon many moons ago I couldn’t help but be struck by how well it could lend itself to a more hard rock / groove metal feel.
I was able to approach him and share the details of what we had in mind to benefit the LGBT choir my dying friend wished donations to go to and he very graciously allowed us to cover this song for charity.
