Is PeerTube like Mastodon where I need to find an instance to call home but then I can subscribe to channels from any instance I want?

@Joseph_of_Earth pretty much, as long as your instance federates with others

@tilvids, which is my favorite one, doesn't for a good reason, but I love that I can watch the content from there and from pretty much any other instance following everyone from my masto account

Point of clarification: We will federate with others, but only if they strictly align with our goal of quality edutainment. @vkc is the first example, great content edutainment content creator that started on but was then ready to start their own instance. We were happy to federate and have their content show up on our instance.

What we DON'T do is blanket federate with everyone for, as you stated, good reason. Too many bad-faith "creators" out there.
