There is some discussion about compiler ambiguities introduced in v2 2.6.0 (specifically with the ValueTask support in Assert.Throws and using lambda functions). Please feel free to add your thoughts here: https://github.com/xunit/xunit/issues/2808
@xunit we've been hit by this on multiple repositories. Our workaround has been to remove the async await in the lambdas that were unnecessary in our case anyway.
But I can see this toot is late in the game and that the community chose to remove the problematic overloads in the next patch.
