A silly safeguard, indeed. But she will have to learn in life to get around lots of various weird programming-based user issues. Teach her to try to think of alternatives whenever the computer glitches or says no to something. In this case, maybe she can use alternatives like "flowerpot" (as one word), "box," etc.

I experienced the same thing 24 years ago as a student teacher. My students couldn't access the Mars Explorer webpage because when typed into the browser as all one word, it triggered a no-no:
"marSEXplorer." 🤦🏼
@mcnees while this is frustrating, it may be a good time to teach your child about a thesaurus. And using different phrasing than what the question provides in searches to achieve different results.

I remember the warning in high school that "whitehouse.com" would not take you to a government site and you could be expelled for visiting it (at the time it was porn) because the filters of 1999 didn't catch it.
