@nimbus5000 When the vast majority of homes and businesses were built in the Portland area it wasn't hot often or for very long. It wasn't a consideration. It's not quite the San Fernando Valley, but it can get every bit as hot for stretches.
I lived in Eugene and Milwaukee for a bit. Most years, there was about of week of uncomfortably hot weather. Right before that, and after was heaven on earth though. Between the Cascades and the Pacific Coast, and all the hippies in between, Oregon has a lot to offer.
@nimbus5000@stevesplace yes, for the most part it’s: open windows with fans from 2000 to maybe 0800, then button-up till 2000; rinse and repeat during hot spells.
