@nclslbrn You're probably right! I'm not religious, but their sheer presence, size & age certainly has a way to put one into place, reflect and heed respect, esp. when walking alone among those giants. I find it impossible to understand the simple minds who've allowed clear cutting of these majestic old growth forests further up north in BC (and obviously not just there!)... all that for turning them into effing plywood!
@toxi I couldn't agree more: no project deserves to use these trees. In Europe too, forests are poorly protected, Ikea is buying up trees illegally felled in Romania and other countries, and the authorities letting this happen even though they have created laws to protect them (source: https://www.arte.tv/de/videos/112297-000-A/wie-ikea-den-planeten-pluendert).
