@stefan So not only is AI stressing the electrical grids and water demand, it's also giving really bad advice, eve to the extent of advocating illeagal actions. No wonder AI is so highly valued.

@stefan (Just to be clear, there are limited applications where AI is clearly a significant help, as shown by the use in determining protein folding BUt that is not the generative AI released into the wild to be used by anyone with no understanding of constraints and limitations, and no ability to sanity check the output.)

@PaulWermer Oh absolutely, I agree. There definitely are valid uses for this technology, for sure.

But I really can't wait for tech companies to move to the next fad.

I just hope it'll be at least more environmentally friendly.
