@ology well you can think of an envelope as a slope.
Envelopes give a sound from an oscillator a shape (sorry if you already know this).
So you can control how long the sound takes to reach full volume, how long it takes to fade and a few things in between. So, a slope on the front end and one on the back.
This one has two of these envelope generators, and Serge called them slopes instead of envelopes.
This unit can do many other things as well. I'm still learning what they all are.
@ology it takes in a control voltage that immediately jumps from value to value and slows down that jump into a smooth slope. You can adjust how fast the rise time and fall time are independently of each other. Another term that gets used for something like this is a "slew limiter."
The module can also generate its own slopes as an envelope, or it can cycle the slopes as an LFO
@ology@reillypascal there are lots of envelope generators to choose from. I have a Z4000 from Tiptop which is nice, as well. Takes up a lot less space, though it's possibly less versatile.
