Going through a box of my late grandfathers belongings from the Second World War. 📦

There’s a lot of good stuff here with a lot of history behind it. 🤓

But does anyone have any knowledge of what these daggers are? Specifically the silver one. 🗡️

There’s something inscribed on the blade. I’m not sure what.

@matt @smurthys First, please be careful in handling them. I was scared when I saw them held over your lap while seated.

You have a German fireman’s bayonet (the one with a black sheath) and a Palestinian Shibriya dagger. Your grandfather must have been a collector.

@matt I think the silver one is a Shibriya associated with Bedouins https://oriental-arms.com/product/early-enameled-silver-shibriya

Inscription doesn't look Arabic though.
