Trying to make a #nut for a #guitar. The idea would be that the strings wouldn't stick quite so much. These will be the second and third bone nuts I have ever shaped.

It stays slightly better in tune when I use the vibrato now. Still not right, but worth playing a while to see whether I can live with it.
Shimmed with a sliver of beer can, because I cut the slots a bit too deep. #learning#luthiery
@liquor_american I'll shim it with a beer can. Who cares. It's a $200 guitar that won't stay in tune if I touch the trem. Hockey stick headstock. Hence the nut project.
I might put a floyd on it, but I have a few blanks, so learning time is fun.
