@Delphi if they want to kill old emissions cars, then rules like that are stupid, the solution is a trade in scheme for a low emissions or EV of the same size.

@Thebratdragon That would be a a good start 👍 & thank you for thinking of solutions. I'm lucky as I have a drive but so many people don't. Being limited to going to one of the limited number of charging stations and sitting around while your vehicle charges must be awful. I can imagine having to charge with children in the car (it isn't as if you could leave them home-alone while you go to charge). I'm concerned that the electricity isn't green & batteries need rare metals - Aargh!

I run out an extension lead, put a fan heater in the car, and have a coffee

Every window de-iced, interior warm with no subsequent misting-up

For some reason it took me years to even think of it, but it is so much nicer than deicer spray, steamed up windows and freezing hands

Only available at home on the drive so very much a minority option

@OliverNoble That's a good idea👍 , although a faff. What fan heater are you using (I haven't got one)? I stopped using spray chemical deicer years ago but still do the freezing hands bit. Fortunately I can knit mittens so can change for fresh ones if my mitts get soggy! Got any ideas for when you're on the go.
