@Likewise@bookstodon While he was writing that book, he lived around the corner from my parents on a South Carolina barrier island. Every evening he walked past to the beach with his little dogs to take a swim at sunset. Often sat in rocking chairs on the deck at the little grocery by the marsh, telling stories. Super friendly and sociable for a writer. It was fun to have him around.
