I still believe that games should have a "catch up mode" where you can run through a mini training level which covers the controls and basics.

@PixelBandits Baldur's Gate 2 had that, but it would be even more useful a "recap" when you spend a month or more not playing the game and wonder where the heck are you.

@PixelBandits 100% agree. Games with complicated control schemes are a big problem for this. As well as an overview of the controls, how about a "story so far" option in narrative games too?

@PixelBandits IIRC the GBA Pokemon games have a little 3 screen slideshow catchup, which was pretty cool.
