There are a LOT of fan made SFX remastered #StarTrek clips on YouTube. This remastered opening credits of Star Trek Voyager is at the top of the list. It’s extremely well done and actually feels like it could be the real deal if Voyager was remastered.
They even fixed the “impossibly small” planet problem as Voyager flies over the icy rings. If you love #StarTrek take a moment and give this video a watch. It deserves so many more views than it has. 🖖 https://youtu.be/vMHx7fiLEow
@gedeonm Very well done indeed. A lot of even the best fanmade CG on YouTube has little tells that give it away, but none jump out at me with this one.
Brings back memories of working through all the trek series some time around 2018. Wasn’t able to watch Voyager during its original run since family didn’t have cable (unlike TNG, which was on the local OTA ABC channel), but it sure did make for a great “relax after work” trek.
I continue to hold out hope that someday we’ll have 4K remastering of #StarTrek#DeepSpaceNine. These restored clips just look so damned good. The show deserves it through and through. https://youtu.be/6FSud5Hl0Tc
@gedeonm At some point, making a widescreen 4K version of every episode might not take more than an AI prompt. Maybe the tech will outpace the studio in making it happen?
@gedeonm I think the problem is the source for both ds9 and voy were vhs recordings, unlike film recordings from TOS to TNG, so it would all have to be artificially upsampled and for the screen ratio you’d have to cut material :-/
