Since I’m a MASSIVE fan, and this is toot 1,701 on my feed, a tribute to the U.S.S. Enterprise seems apropos.

But which Enterprise? I’m a 90s kid, so my very first was the Enterprise-D. In time, I came to know and love all of them. (Okay, maybe not the J. That one’s just weird.)

Fellow —which one is your fave?

So, what’s my favorite Enterprise? The Enterprise-D may have been my first, but the Enterprise-E from the #StarTrek #TNG films claimed my heart.

Why do I love her so? Just look at her! Just look at those elegant, Porsche-like curves! She looks like she’s doing warp five while standing still.

But she’s not just a beauty queen. This girl has teeth. Cross her, and the last thing you’ll see is a barrage of quantum torpedoes headed your way.

claudius,

@digichelle The -D for sure. It is the one we have the absolute most information about. No other ship comes close. To my knowledge , no other ship has a technical manual. It's also the most luxurious and comfortable IMO.

It has carpets!

@claudius I had a copy of the TNG Technical Manual as a kid, and I spent countless hours poring over it, absorbing every detail. No idea what happened to it, sadly. One of these days, I’m going to track down a replacement, preferably a first edition. (I hear the reprint is of inferior quality.)

As for the ship herself—she was basically a luxury hotel in space, wasn’t she? And I’d go as far as arguing that she embodied Roddenberry’s utopian ideals best.

claudius,

@digichelle I would not mind living on Voyager or any of the Enterprises. But secretly, I would love to own a Runabout or at least a Type 6 shuttle.

keira_incognita,

@digichelle Mark down another one in the TOS movie refit Enterprise column. Or just to be a little different, we could say my fave is the A. I kind of like that bridge design in VI and that ship survived to be in the fleet museum.

But I think the SNW Enterprise is gaining on it. Like I was talking about yesterday, it’s such a nice blend of the original TOS ship and the movie refit.

@keira_incognita @digichelle Agreed. And I also like the new G for similar reasons.

@zombierustpunk @keira_incognita I admit, I’m still not 100% sold on the Enterprise-G. I’m not even sure I like the idea of her being the Enterprise-G. That said, there’s a possibility she’ll grow on me if I see more of her.

And yes, I’d love to see more of her, with Captain Seven in command. Captain Seven! My heart sings just thinking about it. (That, and possible gay shenanigans with one Commander Musiker. They owe it to us!)

@keira_incognita @digichelle It was pretty much a dick move that they renamed the Titan.

@zombierustpunk @keira_incognita They really shouldn’t have done that, IMHO. Titan was already a strong name with a legacy of its own, and there have been plenty of Enterprises in Trek. Plus, doing that meant putting the Enterprise-F out to pasture way too early. We hardly knew her!

On the other hand, there’s something undeniably awesome about Seven of Nine being captain of the Enterprise. I have to admit, I love that for her!

@digichelle The refit of the original Enterprise from TMP is my fav followed by the Defiant. I sat in awe during Kirk’s shuttle tour of the revamped Enterprise in the theater. Loved putting that model kit together too.

@gedeonm That whole scene in TMP took my breath away: the long, sweeping views; the epic (and now-iconic) Jerry Goldsmith score; Kirk and Scotty beholding her like a lost love returned to them. I’m tearing up a little just thinking about it! 😢

@digichelle Right there with yay! I love the contrast of the near white Enterprise with the dark, rust colored space dock too. Kirk’s sigh at the 2:40 mark is all the feels! Thx for that! 🥲
