Spotify has gotten an update to its desktop UI, and I'm once again going to argue that it would look so much better on a general basis if it used an integrated header bar on Linux systems. The app is practically begging for it.
@FineFindus I'll consider it when they decide to officially support the Flathub version. Right now I think I'm pretty much guaranteed to waste my time with some poor Spotify desk employee if I contact them 😁
@bragefuglseth With all due respect, I prefer server side decoration (SSD). That doesn't mean I don't like CSD, but it depends on the app and form factor of the device (for tablets and smartphone apps used with a touchscreen, CSD is better, but SSD is better for desktop & laptop apps used with a keyboard and mouse).
@bragefuglseth Electron makes it relatively simple to choose on macOS for example where the radio buttons are, if it was similar on Linux when using the GTK backend, surely that would help?
@bragefuglseth That looks good. However this now has me thinking about how cool it would be if #gnome Web's #pwa option allowed you to overlay window controls without having to bring a whole headerbar into the picture 😭️
@bragefuglseth Aw, unfortunate. @cassidy, I am wondering since I think I saw you added GNOME'S CSD to the home assistant (?) electron app, if this is feasable and how you managed to do this?
@Adaoh@bragefuglseth I didn’t use Electron; it’s a lightweight GTK app with a WebKitGTK web view. 😜 But it's still less integrated than this at the moment.
