We just got Frosthaven and I've been starting to paint some of the minis. I wasn't expecting them to be so difficult to paint! There's so much -stuff- going on in them, but at the same time, none of it is substance. Just wisps and wavy all over. I've pained the Geminate minis and started on the Boneshaper, but it's proving tough.

@Artemis201 @pidgeon_pete Frosthaven minis are small than the typical scale, which makes them reallllly hard to paint. Rewarding though.

Here's some of our gloomhaven minis plus 3d printed terrain and enemies. Still need to pull out standees for some enemies though.

It's almost impossible to get a high quality shot of a gloomhaven mini because they're so gosh darned small.

@pidgeon_pete @hlfshell I'll buy most any game that gives me good value on the minis. I'm also working my way through the Darkest Dungeon enemies. If you ask have a chance to pick that board game up cheap, I highly recommend for the minis. The game is also fun, but complex on the order of frosthaven.

@pidgeon_pete @Artemis201 what printer? I gotta recalibrate the prusa mini as it's giving me issues lately but has been a trooper otherwise. Can't do all minis but does good enough for my purposes... Especially since I don't have the room in the apartment for a resin printer (fumes and whatnot)

@hlfshell @Artemis201 I got an Ender 3 v2 for terrain then eventually an Anycubic Mono 4k. I've spent so little money even including the buy in and printed so much stuff I had to invent my own game system for it all, and the idea that it's hard is just not been my experience. The ender had issues all really easily resolved. The resin printer hasn't so much as failed a single print since I got it.

The mono 4k was like £150 and good resin is like £20 for about 50 mixed size minis.

@pidgeon_pete @hlfshell ooh! I'm looking to get a 3D printer. I think I might try the Anycubic Photon Mono 2. It's $180 usd and looks like it's designed for beginners in mind. Plus the small footprint matches my living space.
How do you like yours? Any tips?

@Artemis201 @pidgeon_pete mines amazing (as Prusa printers tend to be) but it's fdm so not as detailed as resin printers can get. They're so amazingly cheap now that you should just get one if you think you can store it in a ventilated room.

With resin printers just realize there's a lot of post processing steps and work to go through.
