@skinnylatte My own observation would be that there is definitely racism in California (SF included, of course). However, it's usually nowhere near as in your face and blatant as this situation. People are a lot more sneaky about it.
@StanWonn that's usually true but i've also had someone tell me they wanted to burn off my face for my ethnicity. covid really brought out all the anti-Asian stuff. and Black people have long been treated poorly in the city.
