@emarktaylor@baseball@baseball — Yes, but TV blackout rules in baseball are designed to make you watch the local broadcast — Bally, Root, etc. — on your local cable/streaming packages. It doesn’t matter where the game is if the “local” teams are involved.
I met one #BlueJays fan on here who was blacked out despite living thousands of kilometers west of Toronto. 🤷♂️
@cwgrody@emarktaylor@baseball@baseball The chance I would watch a paid local broadcast (or a national one) is zero. So, I follow a team 1000 miles away. This is not good for the long term viability of MLB.

The MLB blackout rules are so antiquated and only hurt fans, it's ridiculous. The territory lines and areas are too sweeping and you get fans blacked out by multiple teams in some parts of the country. It's just dumb.
