This may be the shortest service of a Gacha game yet. The global version of Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live! is set to launch in February 2024, but end in May 2024.

FFS. This is why I hate live services games.

@chikorita157 I'm sorry but this is the funniest thing I've seen all week

@chikorita157 Said it before, the live service pool of players is WAY smaller than single player games. I might play 5-20 games in a year (I’ve never actually counted). But a live service game you have to be exclusive to.

I remember when micro transactions were meant to be micro. Think fractions of cents. Then it would slowly build up.

$99 for some BS gems or coins is not micro. That’s more than a full AAA game I could pour 50-200hrs into.

I genuinely am curious what would happen if someone actually tried micro transactions as intended. Never seen it happen per se.

(I guess Spotify, YouTube, etc do it in a sense, as you get $ per view. But it’s a behind the scenes system with lots of BS like giving some artists bigger chunks etc.)

@yon Yes, I would rather just buy the full copy of the games. I planning to buy Yohane the Parhelion: NUMAZU in the MIRAGE, which is coming out near the end of February.

That said, I have burned by moble games before even after putting the monthly pack for only a few bucks a month for Magia Record EN. Never again.

This is why I hope theire will be more offline ports of these moble games. Bang Dream has one and most recently Yuki Yuuna. Of course, the game is so big that it came in 8 parts, which cost 77,000 yen in total. Of course, it’s better than spending 77000 yen on Gacha and having the game shut down and lose everything.

@chikorita157 Given the “outcry” (I didn’t think much will come of it) with Palworld I can’t help but think that reusing these assets (as I’ve said before) could be a fantastic opportunity.

Heck, could make a game and then allow people to DLC their favorite show to theme the game.

I’d rather play a mid to great game with a theme, than a low game with gacha/micro transactions.

I mean, if a dumb dumb like me can think of this…

shroomie,

@chikorita157 and gacha games just go down similarly to this regularly? i don't really follow gacha game stuff.

@shroomie Depends, but the average time seems to be 1 year.
