So... I'm watching Robert Altman's wonderful 1973 movie, THE LONG GOODBYE and I love the cat (private eye Philip Marlowe, played by Elliot Gould, has an orange tabby cat). And I'm thinking that cat is so perfect. How does one direct a cat? Is that even possible? But this cat is really good. So I research. Does this cat have name? Yes! Morris. And if you're of a certain age you've probably seen him before in the Nine Lives Cat Food commercials. #caturday#trivia
Random #trivia: the keys at the Wigwam Village Motel in Holbrook, Arizona are either worn out so much or very interchangable, and you MIGHT somehow end up in the entirely wrong room (Room 9, instead of Room 6--or maybe vice versa) after driving an awfully long way from Los Angeles early that morning, and have to explain to some very confused people who have awaken you suddenly at 11:30pm at night why you are occupying their room. Most people who responded to this poll knew that a deipnosophist is a person skilled in table talk. It comes from deipnon, meaning meal (probably of non-Indo-European origin) + sophistēs (Greek) meaning wise man, sophist.
TIL the original Zamboni machine was built on a Jeep, and was popularized by a touring ice skater who happened to witness it: Sonja Henie.

His machine scrapes the ice, augers it into the tank, washes it, storing the dirty rinse-water, and then melts it and spreads it evenly behind with a "towel", where it quickly re-freezes evenly.

Once again, I added wrong for the final question (and I'm actually really good at math), so we tumbled in #trivia at #5050Taphouse in #Winchester. But, on the plus side, we only would have ended up 3rd if I'd added correctly, so we wouldn't have won anything.
If my team had listened to me when I said Salt Lake City was the capital of Utah, then we could have ended up in second place, and then I would have been really upset that I added wrong.
