The peak of Chinese New Year for me is on the ninth day in Penang, when the whole neighbourhood comes alive with fireworks, firecrackers and well, setting fire to golden paper. 拜天公，literally praying to the heavenly grandfather or Jade Emperor, involves lots of fruit offerings, smoked meat, and sugar cane for some reason. Part of the rich Hokkien culture here in the community that still values tradition.

Back in #Malaysia after three years, feels good to be home 😭 Nice to see all the Spring Festival/#ChineseNewYear decor!

Will have an overnight stay at a capsule hotel before I jump on my next flight to #Penang 🤤 Also need to find my accent back and get a refresher on new Malay slang. Sudah berapa tahun tak guna lah, tak pandai cakap lagi 😂
