I am “too many requests” level of Mastodon clients on my phone. By all means, I do not wish to complain, but “this is not working” does describe the situation.
@promovicz Hrm okay - sorry langer Tag und ich stehe ggf. auf dem Schlauch aber warum mehere Clients für den selben Account? Abgesehen davon könnte es sein das man mit Disablen der Notifications ggf. das Background Fetchen einschränken kann aber ne sichere Wette ist das nicht. Aber ggf. kann man den Client in den iOS oder App Settings die Background Tätigkeit ganz untersagen?
@hukl Ich brauchte mal nen zweiten Client zum debuggen, und jetzt will ich manchmal wissen wie die Experience in ein zwei anderen Clients aussieht.
Ja - das mit den Notifications im System ausschalten muss ich mal probieren. Was mich vielleicht eigentlich stört, ist dass ich diese Instanz nicht debugged kann. Oder ich schmeiße die anderen Clients einfach runter… geht schon.

Apparently, I have reached the age of „something with wood“ - as a friend is peddling me some boxwood, and I find that I like this type of wood because it seems pretty technical. Let me think about it for a few days… 🤔
Walking through the night in once-more-vibrant Berlin, from the East center to the West center. Weekends are quite lively at the moment, with lots of pop-crowd partying. The city is growing more metropolitan, and people behave accordingly. An early and hot spring has people out in mid-summer party dress. I'm in more of a transportation mood, playing rock for a ~20 km "walk".
Up to meet some friends at one of our hackerspaces. I'm going to fix the chain for the drain plugs on our kitchen sink, muddle around with some picture hangers, send some invitations, and finish sorting my heirloom collection of sub-miniature incandescent light bulbs and Soviet era transistors. Not sure yet what I'll do with the light bulbs - they're tiny ones, basically candles at this point. See you later... 😅
This is the fourth hackerspace that I'm involved in. The first is a hacktivist space. The second is more of a culture spot. The third is a community makerspace, and used to have a garden and a bar. The newest one is a shared work and creative space. I have also built and furnished a warehouse, and was involved in some very well-known hacker events. We also inspired many others to build their own places. It's surreal, but I'm proud of it all. :anarchismred:
Mastodon should support sending vCard attachments. Profiles should allow way more fields for contact information. Few things are more useful than contacts. Birdsite may not have done this, just to reduce potential for competition - which is just diversity for us.
My „high school“ offered elective housekeeping lessons, and all the most „grown-up“ kids went. Our director held a speech once, about life skills in school - but this class was the only one (at all) that taught any. The teacher was nice, the class was small, and we worked in random pairs. There were time constraints, so we only learned basics - but I went for social reasons, and that was also a great idea.
