@glynmoody I'm certainly no fan of #brexit (quite the opposite), but if #WhatsApp were to disappear it would be no loss. Faecesbook – sorry, 'meta' – already has too large a share of big tech intrusion into our private lives. #Signal (https://signal.org/) is a superior product in any case; in my opinion we should all be switching to that in droves anyway.

@glynmoody You think Signal's at risk too? Can't see why, given that Signal doesn't just have E2EE, it also uses zero knowledge, is open source, and run by an independent nonprofit. It would be fun waching anyone try to coerce compromise of its design by waving UK law around.

And maybe I'm being naïve (probably), but I have to wonder how any government prevent its use. Perhaps through pressure on UK ISPs? (I don't think it's going to be very long before we're not reliant on local ISPs anyway.)
