Der @mspro ist gerade etwas krawallig unterwegs, aber das hier ist gleichsam eine gute Idee (show, don’t tell) als auch sehr erhellend. So eine Timeline ist wirklich witzlos, und auch absurd weit weg von meinen Insta- und Facebook timelines (die ich ganz gern mag).

Gründe für mich völlig unklar, so gewinnt man nicht gegen Twitter. #threads

@DerMolly @mspro @rstockm also erstmal muss man feststellen das in der Größenordnung (100M+ User) nichts einfach ist. Andererseits hat FB die Infrastruktur so oder so für beides. Daher denke ich nicht das die die Abwägung aus dieser Sicht gemacht haben.

Übergriffig obwohl 99,99% der Posts auf thread.net sicher absolute unproblematisch sind. Ich kann schon selber entscheiden wessen Posts ich sehen will. Und threads ist noch nicht mal integriert ins Fediverse.

Maybe I should just host my own. The stack looks pretty default RoR. I am co-running a GitLab instance for almost 10 years so Mastodon should not be to hard.

@mwfc I will look into it but if I run my own it will probably be Mastodon because I know how to run a Rails app of that type and it’s well supported. The idea is to run a server not gain a hobby 😬

@mwfc Yeah it can be a bit of a pain with all the components. I know the stack (GitLab is quite similar) so it’s fine but it is quite a beast.

@hessi Was ich nicht verstehe ist warum die Server Admins das machen müssen. Auch jeder User kann is Threads blocken wenn er will und zwar den ganzen Server. Bei Spam und so verstehe ich das aber 99,99% der Threads User sind doch kein Problem werden aber trotzdem stummgeschaltet. Das ist schon ne komische Ideologie.

When a restaurant recently asked Google to remove my bad review, Google, a company that I have had a business relationship with for roughly two decades, asked me to prove

  1. that Hendrik Mans is my real name (which I had done before, twice)

  2. that I had actually visited the restaurant (which I did by sending them a screenshot of my Google location history.)

I am not afraid of big tech "getting my data", they are way too incompetent to actually use it.

    @OverBoing und Vorsicht das ist 12V. An den meisten WRs brauchst du 22+V Spannung. Das heißt 2 in Reihe schalten.
