My 14-year old wants a mechanical keyboard for his gaming PC. I am encouraging him to build his own, instead of consuming some Logitech junk.

There seem to be an overwhelming choice of DIY/open source kits. What's a good entry-point for a novice who isn't afraid of a soldering iron?

My mum, in her 70s, has switched from PC to Mac a few years ago, but wanted to use Word over Pages for familiarity.

Evidently, Word for Mac forces its users to save their files in OneDrive instead of iCloud Drive. This is utterly confusing for her, and as far as I can see there's no way to change it.

What a crock of enshittification.

Have you used pixelfed? Hosted an instance?
