Jede sechste Stimme aus Deutschland in der EU Parlamentswahl ging an eine Partei, die Menschen wie mich (EU-Bürger) am liebsten aus Deutschland vertreiben würde. Das macht was mit mir. Aber um mich herum nur Schulterzucken und "man muss die ernst nehmen und nicht verbieten wollen". Ich hänge dann mal die Antifa Fahne an meinem Balkon.
Putins Destabilisierungsstrategie funktioniert. Die Rechts- und Linksfaschisten der noAFD und BSW gewinnen auf breiter Front. Aber zu mehr als ein paar belanglose Runden bei Markus Lanz wird es nicht reichen. Antifaschismus bleibt halt harte Handarbeit. Dann machen wir das halt. Also ich zumindest. Tatenlos Zuschauen geht für mich nicht.

Well. A small setback. Even though I have the official paperwork with me, they couldn’t find me in their voter lists. So they have to make a few calls to verify and I couldn’t vote yet. So next try in 10 minutes.
I am biased. But. My gut feeling is that the EU is moving towards becoming a superpower, unwillingly and unknowingly. The US is on a road towards unreliable chaos. China is focusing on economic power to the outside world. Russia is a small power with irrelevant GDP. Africa and South America is un-united but waiting. Will we be able to accept our role? #GoodNight
The transnational discussions that happen inside the EU and that steer the overall direction might look confusing and unorganised, but the mechanics of the EU institutions also create a system that moves forward,. Doggedly, sometimes dogmatic. But it's a way forward.
Would I go as far as claiming that the EU could be what the UN hoped to be? A transnational organisation that finds compromises beyond national interests? I would. It's not what I want, I want global democracy. But Sunday is a day where I can vote beyond borders and that is a good thing.

A week of a lot of work comes to an end. But I am pleased with the results. On many levels. On social networks we often automagically post the negative things but we should also share the good moments. With that in mind: I am in a good mood because I managed to get good outcomes on many levels. Hard work paid off. Not just for me, but also for many other people. Yay!
One of our big partners was impressed and really happy with the keynote I delivered at their internal event. A visit of the Red Hat CEO to our office is being organised. And as a works council member we made real progress in our negotiations to protect our German employees. I am exhausted, I admit. But also satisfied. Now on to the #EUParliament vote on Sunday!
Warum wundert es mich nicht, dass meine Probe Bahncard, gültig bis 9.7. und mit mindestens 4 Wochen Vorlauf zu kündigen, sich nicht im Onlineportal kündigen lässt.
@mwfc Einfach probieren und screenshot sichern. So wie ich die Bahn kenne, wird dass ohne Probleme gelöst. Mit dem Screenshot kannst du zur Not belegen, daß es innerhalb der Kündigungsfrist war. Aber es wird da keine Nachfragen geben. Der Streit lohnt sich nicht für die Bahn ;)
Quite the day. Full day workshop at the office where I was mentor, cameraman, photographer, audio mixer. Put some colleagues in front of the big camera and big lights, so they could experience that for the first time. Partial power outage caused by a Tesla pulling too much power, knocking out the power line to the network infrastructure. Fixed that. Rushed to the station to catch the train to Frankfurt, where I just checked in to the hotel. This one is well deserved, IMHO :) #LifeAtRedHat
Oh. And also an all hands meeting to participate in and assist by taking pix with the big fat Nikon D850. I was in the office at 7:15, which is VERY unusual for me :) Tomorrow I will deliver a 60 minute presentation on Open Source AI, security and other topics here in Frankfurt at a partner conference before I rush back to Munich to get some sleep and be ready for the #ChildrensDay in the office on Friday, where I again will take pix and help in whatever way I can. #LifeAtRedHat
(I am still on zero flights this year. Managed all my business trips by train so far. Brussels, Berlin, Brno, Warsaw, Frankfurt, Vienna and a few more. I might not be able to avoid flights completely, but I really try to become better)
The problem isn't #Trump still being a candidate. The problem is that the USA limits the rights of convicted felons in many ways but leaves a gaping hole when it comes to being a presidential candidate. IMHO.
