Starquake (Bubble Bus, 1985). A funny adventure by Stephen J. Crow (Firelord, Uridium, Netherworld, ...) starring a cute robot that has crash landed on a rogue planet -a maze made of 512 screens- and must repair its unstable core or it will explode and destroy the galaxy. Its clever puzzles, excelent graphics and sounds, cool music and a frenetic action are clearly inspired by the best Ultimate games.
El Cid (Dro Soft, 1987). Poor isometric adventure starring the epic spanish knight of the 11th century. Snatch a parchment from evil forces that try to use it to free Satan and take over the world. The main problem is a tough movement. The weird combination of keys (K, Ent, O, S and L) don't help much, the sound is poor and the game map is a boring group of road intersections. Livingstone, Supongo (Opera Soft, 1987). Take the role of Henry Morton Stanley in his historic mission of searching lost adventurer David Livingstone. You progress through an almost linear jungle, screen by screen, no scroll, full of cannibals, monkeys, piranhas, carnivorous plants and soldiery. Sabre Wulf (Ult8mate, 1984). The first adventure of Sabreman, an intrepid explorer in a giant jungle infested with wild animals and dangerous natives, where he must search the four pieces of a medallion. Superb (and hard) game with frenetic action, colourful graphics and cool sound effects that made you immerse in an unique arcade atmosphere. Unforgettable intro music
Inside Outing (The Edge, 1988). It takes place in a mansion of a dead richman whose widow asks you to find some hidden gems along the house. To achieve your mission, you must face some weird pets that are the result of bizarre experiments by the deceased. An interesting adventure but with slow, clumsy and rough movements that made it sometimes exasperating. Nice graphics with detailed objects in every room. A good idea in a dissapointing game
Skool Daze (Microsphere, 1984). Two teachers coded this original game that takes place in a school. Eric must remove his awful report from the staffroom safe by introducing the combination of 4 letters. How to get them is an amazing adventure facing a bully, a swot, a snitch, teachers, while attending (or not, it's up to you!) every classroom. A marvellous game by Bo Jangeborg that takes place in Castle Avars, in the land of Fairlight, the once-prosperous land led by mighty and worthy leaders that now is a dying land, where the dark reigns. Isvar is our hero that must find the Book of Light to free the land. An isometric adventure among the best. Find objects and fight guards & trolls while wandering around the castle. Jet Set Willy (Software Projects, 1984). The sequel to Manic Miner where Miner Willy is now a millionaire that lives in a huge mansion. After a party he wants to go to bed but Maria, his housekeeper, won't let him enter the bedroom till he collect all the bottles used in the party that are spread all over the mansion.
