The real "Canadian" departed from MontrƩal and reached Sudbury via Ottawa and North Bay. on its way to Thunderbay and Vancouver. Tracls west of Ottawa to Mattawa no longer exist, but a short line has maintained service between Mattawa to Sudbury.

heliomass,

@jfmezei Would that route have taken it through the present day Hudson and the disused Rigaud?

heliomass,

@jfmezei Thatā€™s cool. I remember finding a reverse-cab ride video of the section from Rigaud to Hudson before it was closed. That part looked very scenic! I wonder if the track bed is still walkable?

heliomass,

@jfmezei Very cool indeed! Sounds like a challenge I might undertake one day. Thanks for the images! Is it an official walk, or just a case of the alignment being accessible and no one minding hikers?

heliomass,

@jfmezei Sounds like itā€™s in the spirit of the P'Tit Train Du Nord. Iā€™d hope the town would donate it as a public right of way instead of selling it to a private owner, but is a shame they had to close that section of line in the first place (although I do understand the reasons it came about)

heliomass,

@jfmezei You know, I wouldnā€™t have known this was part of the Trans Canada Trail had you not told me. I checked the official site, and the map shows no evidence of any trails near this area. Makes me think the official website might not be the best source of info.

šŸ˜ ā€œChoosing a Mastodon iPhone Appā€ ā€“ New on the blog, and I wanted to write about this as the choices are looking pretty good right now; Way better than they were last year. Whether youā€™re a casual user or a power user, thereā€™s an app for everyone.

A pair of hands holding an iPhone in landscape orientation. The screen shows two timelines in split-screen. The timelines show cute animals.

Hello MSTDN.CA, it's good to be here! šŸŽ‰

heliomass,

First time Iā€™ve done a migration from one Mastodon instance to another!

Iā€™ve managed to move over those following me on the old instance, but it seems I have to either follow everyone back manually, or try and import my list of followers into the new instance from the export I did on the old oneā€¦

heliomass,

@peter Phew! Thanks.

heliomass,

@dharrison Thanks!
