I know the bi pin hat is anachronistic, but I just can’t help but see Luz standing there like that, in a big city, tops of her ears covered, holding her hand out as if feeling human realm rain for the first time, and think all the way back to the Witch Among Humans series
I can’t believe it’s been 8 months already either! And considering it already started a few months in, that means we’re already coming up on a year of this community and the exodus! And 365 daily MM comics posted here! (plus a little more for the double-headers). It simultaneously feels so recent and so long ago, but I wouldn’t’ve guessed a year already!
Ooh look, a callback! We already saw Viney meeting Skara’s dad (now apparently happening immediately after this comic) back in February
And believe it or not, it was actually quite easy to find that comic and link, even though I didn’t remember the name or exactly when it was posted, to it thanks to a secret-but-not-really-it’s-actually-been-public-here-since-the-beginning-we-just-haven’t-publicly-announced-it-yet project that @Aielman15 and I have been working on for a few weeks. YOU, reader! Pop quiz! Do you know how to do turn off the water if YOUR sinks turns into a water fountain? Don’t wait until that happens to go looking, now’s a good time to double check!
At least in the US, you’ll probably have two shutoffs under your sinks, one each for hot and cold water. Toilet shutoffs are also pretty easy to find. Bathtubs/showers can be a bit trickier, you might not be able to turn those off directly. Do you know where the shutoff is for your entire house/unit? Some leaks like to be annoying and happen in the middle of the wall
While you’re at it, why not double check your smoke alarms and fire extinguishers if you haven’t done so in a while. Yeah, fire extinguishers need to be checked. See that little needle on there? Make sure its still in the green, or you might have to recharge it to make sure it still has enough pressure to actually extinguish fires

Yeah good point. We already have enough ambiguity for Human Realm stuff between before or after S3 (unless Hunter is seen), we don’t need to think about or draw a line between before or after Ayzee. The Storyline tag can cover that

Tagging only characters that physically appear in the page will also be useful to run some stats on chars appearances after we’re done! I’d be really curious to see the results of a list of chars sorted by number of appearances.
Yeah that’ll be fun! I think the next step after filling out locations will be a general contributing guidelines/notes to explain stuff like Timeskip=>Adult/Next Gen and how we distinguish before/after S3 in the Human Realm (how do we do that? just assume one or the other unless its obvious?). That can then become the main source of data for Series/Timeline/Storyline options, and I can add extra stats there
In other news, Chars and Locs and now listed on the main page, because we now have the start of location data! Same format for both. Haven’t bothered sorting locs yet as we figure out what we’ll need
Finally had time to back and finish up the Display Links formula, thanks for keeping up with the comics! Google Sheets only lists all links in the cell when you click on it, not the specific link you click on, put the formatting does looks good on the cells. Also Lemmy links are now all run through lemmyverse.link to redirect to everyone’s preferred instance
While dropping in the last few days of comics, I realize we don’t have a Timeline tag for timeskip-era when Luz and Amity are adults but not part of an ongoing storyline. It looks like you’ve just been calling those Post Finale? That might need a little review
Contrast also calls our character listing into question now too. I’m find with listing everyone seen, even in cameos, but what if they’re completely unseen, with no dialogue, but explicitly confirmed to be in the area?
Anyway, next I’ll (hopefully quickly) concatenate the full list of characters into one cell for the Display page, then start building out the Locations section on Data
I’m not entirely sold on the Jax is an NPC/AI theory. Some of the evidence like the Jax plushie first I think is just Glitch recognizing the fandom would latch on to him immediately
His “master of unlocking things” skill does stand out and there’s obviously something we don’t know about him given the lack of room on his pin card, I’m just not sold on the AI theory
We see him sad for just a moment before Kaufmo’s funeral before he catches himself and gets annoyed. I feel like most of his behavior is just an unhealthy coping mechanism for getting trapped in the Circus, not AI. Goose also said on Tumblr that, of everyone, Jax deserves to be in the Circus the most: why would an AI deserve this punishment?
Given the CCK AIs were supposed to be 57x more immersive, that sounds like a big step up, and I dont think an AI as old as Jax would be capable of blending in so much. And Caine should have more control over an AI than a human, right? (But maybe that’s where the “rouge” comes into play?)
My initial read on Caine’s comment was just that there was a mixup and some horrible accident in the past, not that someone today is an undercover AI, and so far I’m still standing by it. I can see potential theories for a few of them being AIs (and apparently Film Theory wants to do the same for Pomni next), but I don’t see any strong evidence to really suggest that so far. Jax is still definitely hiding something, but I don’t think its that he’s an AI
I mean, I don’t think death is possible in the Circus, but go ahead, please do try! It’ll be fun to watch!
