I am moving to new acount @tuzu. I don't realy have any issue with Fostodon, I just want to interact with toots in czech wich Fosstodon doesn't allow.

There are so many great clients. My favorite from those I tried so far is @moshidon. Right now I am on @mastify, it's amazing but right now it lacks lot of features. There are also lot of other great clients like and .

My #Wayland experiment is over.

I'm going back to Xorg. At least until there's a Window Manager/Portal combination that works well enough for my use case. #Hyperland is close, but close isn't close enough for a production system.

TheTuzu,
@TheTuzu@fosstodon.org avatar

@thelinuxcast I would sugest you try dwl (https://codeberg.org/dwl/dwl), it's not nearly as featurefull but I personaly realy like it.

GNU screen is surprisingly good. I will try to use it more often.

TheTuzu,

@noodlez1232 Tmux is from what I can tell more featurefull but for my GNU screen does the job done.

@noflcl @itsfoss Good for you. I don't even know how I would go about setting up notifications, I just always tell myself that I don't need them.

TheTuzu,

@Methylcobalamin There are lot of things that are quicker in cli if you get used to it. But most things you can do in GUI too.

I just moved from gentoo to . Over all gentoo was amazing but I just am lazy and I don't want to wait wait ~1h for update.

TheTuzu,
@TheTuzu@fosstodon.org avatar

@met I know, even before that I was using some binarys, but if I was to going full binary I could just use another distro. I know there is more to gentoo than just compiling, but I also didn't want to unmask packages all the time.

Oh, okay. Any suggestions for a new language to learn in 2024?

TheTuzu,
@TheTuzu@fosstodon.org avatar

I'm calling out every Linux dev that uses i386 to mean i386, up to i686, stop it. Nobody besides Linux devs does this, its a stupid name for the group. Just call it x86 like everyone else

🤓 Um Aktualy, x86 also include 16 bit CPUs
No one cares they haven't existed since the 80s

TheTuzu,
@TheTuzu@fosstodon.org avatar

@BrodieOnLinux I think the most apropriete name would be IA-32 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IA-32) because it refers to Intel family of 32 bit architecture. I think saying just 32bit is wrong because it includes all 32bit architectures (like arm V7). Also it's not Intel only, AMD also made IA-32 CPU (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_K5).
